Foé (born January 4, 1997 in Toulouse as Nicolas Poyet ) is a French singer-songwriter .

Career

Nicolas Poyet was born in Toulouse in January 1997 and took piano lessons at the Toulouse Conservatory between the ages of six and eleven before learning guitar in an MJC in Empalot, a district of Toulouse. At that time he mainly listened to AC / DC , Red Hot Chili Peppers , Alt-J , Stupeflip , Daft Punk and American rap .

After graduating from high school at Lycée Bellevue, he completed a DUT in mechanical engineering and production engineering at Paul Sabatier University .

In 2016 he took part in the auditions for the twelfth season of Nouvelle Star under the name "Nicolas" , but was not nominated.

Then it was discovered on the internet by Chad Boccara, who decided to produce it on his Faubourg26 label. He chose his pseudonym as a tribute to Daniel Defoe , the author of Robinson Crusoe . You then sign a contract with the Tôt ou tard label.

In November 2017, at the age of 20, Foé released his first EP, which consisted of four songs, then opened up for Vianney , as well as for Cats on Trees and Eugénie. His title Mommy is regularly broadcast on French-speaking and Belgian radio stations.

Influenced by Stromae , Tim Dup and Eddy de Pretto , his first album Îl was released in April 2018 on the Tôt ou Tard label.
