Forsthart is located on the Forstharter Ridge about four kilometers southwest of Künzing.

history

Numerous prehistoric burial mounds are known from the area around Forsthart , 1900 meters northwest of the Catholic Expositurkirche St. Michael there is also an early medieval ring wall, the Aurolfing ring wall , but the actual local history does not begin until the beginning of the 19th century. As recently as 1792, there was no reference to a settlement in Forsthart in a plan of the route from Aldersbach to Osterhofen . There was an extensive state forest here with an area of 500 hectares, which was probably auctioned off to those willing to settle after the order of April 26, 1805. An exact date of the founding of Forsthart is not available.

The marriage records of the responsible parish of Galgweis contain the first marriage of a "Hoader" colonist in 1806. By 1811, 66 properties had already been built here. When the tax districts were formed in 1808, the Hart colony was formed into a separate tax district in the Vilshofen district court , from which the Forsthart community emerged in 1818, to which Dreibuchenmais, Kohlstatt and Mairing belonged since 1821.

When the regional court in Osterhofen was established in 1838, the community of Forsthart came to this from the regional court in Vilshofen. In 1840 the community of Forsthart had 118 settlers. The land was regularly divided into plots averaging four hectares. At the intersection of the old high road with the road that connects the Vils and Danube valleys , a town center emerged. In the peripheral areas, the character of a loose, formerly small-scale scattered settlement was retained .

The Forsthart branch was founded in 1927.

On January 1, 1972, Forsthart was incorporated into Künzing as part of the regional reform .
