The RheinPoesie is an excursion boat built in 1994 for the passenger shipping company Allard from Koblenz , which has been owned by the passenger shipping company Dörbaum GbR in Hameln since 1997 . Since its commissioning, it has been used in charter by the Cologne-Düsseldorfer in the Düsseldorf area for excursions and tours on the Lower Rhine . She is the structurally identical sister ship of the Fantasia , which operates in the port of Hamburg .

history

The Warsteiners in Düsseldorf

The passenger ship was built in 1994 by the Belgian Nieuwe Scheepswerfen Sint Barbara in Maasmechelen based on a design by Fred van den Berg for the passenger shipping company Allard under the name Warsteiner . The keel was laid in January 1994, the launch in June of the same year. The construction costs which the shipping company and the Warsteiner brewery were carried respectively 50%, amounted to 3.6 million  DM . A long-term charter was previously contractually agreed with Köln-Düsseldorfer , which had a five-year right of first refusal secured . The press presentation of the ship was scheduled for July 22, 1994 in Düsseldorf . As the ship stopped in Zaltbommel on July 20th due to the incorrect installation of the rudder system and had to be towed to the Meiderich shipyard for repair , the press presentation took place on the replacement ship Godesburg . The commissioning took place after replacing the defective steering gear without any further celebrations on July 29, 1994. On January 2, 1997, the passenger shipping company Dörbaum GbR became the owner of the ship. In addition to the current charter contract, the family company also took on the management of the Warsteiner . In 2018 the ship was taken over by the Köln-Düsseldorfer and renamed RheinPoesie .

Furnishing

The RheinPoesie is a two and a half deck passenger ship with a saloon on the closed main deck. The passenger compartment is divided into two parts. The usable area of the ship is around 360 m², the ceiling height is 2.20 m. Aft are the toilet facilities and a cloakroom, which are connected to private cabins for the ship owners who live on the RheinPoesie during the season . The open sun deck is suitable for up to 120 people. In the lower deck there is a storage room in the bow next to the bow thruster room, to which a ballast and holding tank are connected in the low intermediate floor under the main deck. A cooling room, drinking water and fuel tanks are located on the aft deck. The ship, which is wheelchair accessible on the main deck, is approved for a maximum of 250 passengers. The ship is approved for 250 people.

technology

The Rhine poetry is since November 2012 by two 6-cylinder diesel engines of manufacturer Caterpillar , type C18 ACERT with 400  kW two Z-Drive type SRP 170 driven. The bow thruster has an electric drive with 60 kW. The ship is 52 m long, 11.40 m wide and 6.80 m high. The maximum draft is given as 1.20 m.
