Near miss
At the end of December 2008, the autopilot and the controls failed for 30 seconds, combined with the activation of the emergency lighting. In order to avoid possible dangers in the event of a further failure, the master set the ship ashore. No persons were harmed, only dishes that had fallen down in the ship were damaged. The cause was a short circuit caused by a battery that also supplies the main computer with energy. After the defect was repaired in the Linz shipyard , the ship was put back into operation before New Year's Eve 2008.
