Fortunatus M. Lukanima (born December 8, 1940 in Irondo , Tanzania , † March 12, 2014 in Mwanza , Tanzania) was Bishop of Arusha .
Life
Fortunatus M. Lukanima was ordained a priest on December 8, 1968 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Arusha on March 6, 1989. The Archbishop of Dar es Salaam , Laurean Cardinal Rugambwa , ordained him episcopal on August 13 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga , Archbishop of Nairobi , and Dennis Vincent Durning CSSp , Bishop Emeritus of Arusha.
On July 20, 1998, John Paul II accepted his early resignation for health reasons.
