Josaphat Louis Lebulu

Josaphat Louis Lebulu (born June 13, 1942 in Kisangara , Tanzania ) is a Tanzanian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Arusha .

Life

Josaphat Louis Lebulu received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Same on December 11, 1968 .

On February 12, 1979, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Same. The Archbishop of Dar es Salaam , Laurean Cardinal Rugambwa , donated him episcopal ordination on May 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Iringa , Mario Epifanio Abdallah Mgulunde , and the Bishop of Arusha, Dennis Vincent Durning CSSp . On November 28, 1998, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Arusha. As a result of the elevation of the Diocese of Arusha to the Archbishopric, Josaphat Louis Lebulu was appointed Archbishop of Arusha on March 16, 1999.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on December 27, 2017.
