Foz is a Spanish village in Galicia on the coast of the Cantabrian Sea between the municipalities of Burela and Barreiros . The municipality covers an area of ​​about 100 km² with 9980 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). Inland, Foz borders on Lourenzá , Mondoñedo , Valadouro , Alfoz and Cervo .

Foz used to be a fishing village. Today tourism is the main industry with many beaches.

Attractions

The former cathedral Basilica of San Martiño de Mondoñedo from the 6th century with paintings from the 14th to 16th centuries is one of the oldest churches in Spain. The fortress of Fazouro dates from the 2nd century BC.
