history

Earliest proof of location

The previous celebrations for the first documentary mention of the municipality of Frömmstedt, every "25 years", are based on an excerpt from the year 1126. The reference to the aforementioned probably comes from a recording by Friedrich Bernhard von Hagke , former district administrator of the Weissensee district and archivist Certificate. This document reports on a donation from Countess Kunigunde von Beichlingen to the Oldisleben monastery.

In the Thüringer Allgemeine (TA) of January 26, 2013 reference is made to a source according to which the municipality of Frömmstedt was first mentioned 925 years ago (that would be 1088). This source, the Regesta diplomatica necnon epistolaria historiae Thuringiae by Otto Dobencker , has been known to the community since July 7, 1987.

Helmut Claus, then director of the research library at Friedenstein Castle in Gotha, stated in a letter that Frommstedt was first mentioned between March 31, 1084 and 1088. He writes: “The document in which your place is mentioned is unfortunately not clearly dated, it only mentions Emperor Heinrich IV and Abbot Winther von Lorsch. [...] The mentioned period can be deduced from the coincidence of the two periods of government or office. "

Also the legend about the "pious lords of Keppler" as the alleged namesake of the community Frömmstedt, mentioned by Friedrich Bernhard von Hagke, dates to the period of the "first crusades (1096-1099)", so it cannot be ruled out that the community may at that time already existed.

Since June 24, 1993, the municipality of Frömmstedt has had a copy of the Regesta by Otto Dobencker for the period in question. The municipality of Frömmstedt would have to decide which mention should serve as an occasion for an anniversary celebration.

In 1593 the community "Frömbstedt" asked the "Elector" of Saxony (Friedrich Wilhelm, Duke of Saxony and Elector of Saxony) for the liquor license and brewing rights , which were probably also granted in the same year.

Development since the 19th century

Frommstedt belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Weißensee until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna the place to Prussia came only in 1816 the district Weissensee in the administrative district of Erfurt the province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

During the time of National Socialism and during the Second World War , eight workers from Poland had to do forced labor in agriculture.

When the Americans marched in on April 11, 1945, nine German soldiers were killed and buried in the churchyard.

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Frömmstedt was merged with Bilzingsleben , Kannawurf and Kindelbrück to form the new rural municipality of Kindelbrück. Before that she belonged to the administrative community Kindelbrück .

coat of arms

Blazon : In blue a rising golden tip, inside a stylized pyramid of black, irregular stones, silver joints, in front a growing silver sword, behind a silver chalice.

The boulder pyramid on Kirschberg, erected by teacher Dittmann and his students on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Leipzig in 1913, which was placed under protection as a geological natural monument by resolution of the Sömmerda district council in 1992, is the focus of the municipal coat of arms of Frömmstedt. The depicted sword comes from the etymology and refers to the legend of the pious knights of Keppler, who are named as the earliest owners of the village. The cup in the coat of arms indicates the bond and rich income that the monasteries Capelle, Göllingen and Oldisleben received from Frömmstedt. In 1951 the community already had a chalice in a seal.
