Formerly Malingre
Formerly Malingre is a white wine variety that was grown from seedlings, the origin of which is unknown, by a French gardener named Malingre near Paris around 1840 . Today the variety is mainly used as a table grape in home gardens and is cultivated in many countries such as Belgium , China , Germany , France , Canada , Austria , the USA, etc. This variety is of particular importance as a crossbreed partner for many new breeds . Examples are the Madeleine Angevine and Zarya Severa varieties . Madeleine Angevine, for her part, is a cross-breeding partner of the better-known varieties Perle von Csaba , Reichensteiner and Siegerrebe . Via the crossing Gm 6494, Zarya Severa was included in the new breeds Bronner , Baron , Cabernet Carbon , Prior and Souvignier gris .

Ampelographic varietal characteristics
In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:
- The shoot tip is open. It is slightly flamed (sometimes just cobweb) hairy with a slightly reddish tinge on the edges. The young leaves are hairy like a cobweb and already heavily cupped.
- The small leaves are five-lobed and strongly indented. The stem bay is lyren-shaped open. The sheet is serrated to a point. The upper side of the leaf (also called the leaf blade) is blistered and coarse.
- The cone-shaped to cylindrical grape is medium-sized and has loose berries. The elongated berries are medium-sized and yellowish to green in color. The berries are thin-skinned.
Earlier Malingre ripens almost 10 days before the Gutedel . It is therefore considered to ripen very early. The variety bears well and has adequate resistance to rot. The berries are juicy and sweet, but have no specific aroma. Due to the thin-skinned berries, the variety is easily susceptible to raw rot and transport of the berries is therefore hardly possible.
