François Jakubowski (born April 28, 1958 in Strasbourg ) is a French entrepreneur and former racing driver .

Entrepreneur

François Jakubowski is the managing partner of Modena Motors , one of the largest sports car dealers in France with locations in Strasbourg, Mulhouse and Cannes . Exclusive sports cars from the Ferrari and Maserati brands are sold and serviced . Jakubowski was also a co-owner of Luxury Racing , a French racing team that mainly used Ferrari GT racing cars in GT and sports car racing between 2009 and 2012.

Career in motorsport

Jakubowski was as many years mountain racers active when they joined the mid-1990s to the racetrack. He contested his first races in the Global GT Series and the French GT Championship . In 1997 he tried for the first time to qualify for the 24 Hours of Le Mans . The trio David Dussau , Edouard Sezionale and Jakubowski failed on a Debora LMP297 in the pre-qualification in May at the specified qualifying time and were not allowed to race by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest .

In the following years he competed in the FIA GT Championship and the European Le Mans Series . However, he had most outings in the French GT Championship, where he was sixth overall in the final standings of the GT3 class in 2008.

He had his only Le Mans start in 2011 . After an accident he had to give up the race early. Before it retired, the car, a Ferrari 458 Italia GTC , was involved in an incident. Anthony Beltoise was at the wheel when it in the passage in front of the Esses collision with the Audi R18 of Allan McNish came. While the Audi was completely destroyed, Beltoise was able to continue the race.
