Dominik Farnbacher (born September 26, 1984 in Ansbach ) is a German racing car driver .

family

Dominik Farnbacher is the son of Hans and Hanne Farnbacher, who run a specialist car workshop for the Seat , Hyundai and Toyota brands in Ansbach, an independent town in Bavaria . The factory halls of the family-run Farnbacher Racing team are located in Lichtenau . His younger brother Mario , born in 1992, is also active as a racing driver.

Racing career

Dominik Farnbacher's driving career began in 2001 in Formula BMW . After 20 races, he finished the championship in ninth place in the overall standings. After only one year in monoposto racing , he switched to GTs and sports cars in 2002 . He drove for three years in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and in the Porsche Supercup and from 2005 competed in the Grand-Am Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series .

By the end of the 2017 season, he had contested 137 GT and sports car races and celebrated eleven class wins, including the 24-hour race in Daytona and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring . His best place in the final classification of the Le Mans 24-hour race was 12th in 2010 . In Sebring , the best result was ninth in 2009 .
