Françoise Levie

Françoise Levie (born June 8, 1940 in Nerac ) is a Belgian film producer , director and author .

Levie worked from 1966 to 1968 for Belgian television (RTBF) a. a. as assistant director for programs such as Neuf Millions , La Belgique en Histoires and Le Bus en balade with Jean Delire , Maurice Beerblock and others. She then worked as an assistant director on films such as Malpertuis (with Orson Welles ), Mont-Dragon (with Jacques Brel ) and Préparez vos mouchoirs (with Patrick Dewaere , Gérard Depardieu and Carole Laure ) and worked for radio until the late 1970s. She then made the short film Le Voyageur (based on Thomas Owen ) as part of a thirteen-part series of fantastic films. She then turned to documentary film as a writer, director and producer. She also wrote several biographical non-fiction books. For L'homme qui voulait classer le monde she received the 2007 award from the Parliament of the French Community of Belgium .
