Francesco Bolzoni (born May 7, 1989 in Lodi ) is an Italian football player . He plays in the position of defensive midfielder .
Career
In the club
Francesco Bolzoni began his career at San Colombano al Lambro before joining Inter Milan's youth academy. He has played in every youth academy, from Esordienti (U-13) to Inter Milan Primavera (U-20). During the 2006/07 season he was part of the victorious Inter Milan Primavera, which won the Italian championship .
Bolzoni made his debut for the first team Inters on February 1, 2007 in the Coppa Italia , when he played 26 minutes against Sampdoria Genoa . On September 19, 2007 he was selected for the first time for the Champions League squad against Fenerbahçe Istanbul , but not used. In the next game, however, he was used as a replacement for Santiago Solari in the 70th minute against PSV Eindhoven . On December 12, 2007, the midfielder was in the team for the first time, again against PSV Eindhoven and played the full 90 minutes. Francesco Bolzoni extended his contract with Inter Milan in July 2008 until June 30, 2012. The game ended with a 1-0 win for Inter Milan. On May 24, 2009 Bolzoni played for the first time in Serie A, the top Italian division, against Cagliari Calcio .
Shortly afterwards it was handed over to Genoa together with Leonardo Bonucci and Riccardo Meggiorini as part of the transfer business between Inter Milan and CFC Genoa , where Thiago Motta moved to the "Nerazzurri" . On August 17, 2009 Bolzoni was, without having completed a competitive game for Genoa, awarded to the second division club Frosinone Calcio until the end of the season . During the season he secured a permanent place in the team under head coach Francesco Moriero .
Even under his successor Guido Carboni , who took over the position of head coach at Frosinone on April 26, 2010, the midfielder secured himself a regular place.
After the expiry of the loan period was followed in July 2010, again a change on loan, when Bolzoni until the end of season 2010/11 of AC Siena joined. With Siena he rose to Serie A.
In the national team
On November 21, 2007 he made his debut for the Italian U-21 national team against the Faroe Islands . Previously, Bolzoni was active in the Italian U-17 , U-18 and U-20 selection .
