Francheville Hippodrome

Francheville is a village and a former French commune with 1,285 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the south of the department Eure in the region of Normandy . The municipality belonged to the arrondissement of Évreux and the canton of Breteuil .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Francheville and Verneuil-sur-Avre were merged to form the Commune nouvelle with the name Verneuil d'Avre et d'Iton and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Verneuil-sur-Avre.

geography

Francheville is located about 34 kilometers south-southwest of Évreux . The Iton flows through the former municipality. The municipality of Francheville was surrounded by the villages of Bémécourt in the north, La Guéroulde in the northeast, Cintray in the east, Verneuil-sur-Avre in the southeast, Mandres in the south, Bourth in the west and southwest and Chéronvilliers in the west.
