Francisco Javier Múnera Correa

Francisco Javier Múnera Correa IMC (born October 21, 1956 in Copacabana ) is a Colombian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of San Vicente del Caguán .

Life

Francisco Javier Múnera Correa joined the Congregation of Consolata Missionaries and was ordained a priest on August 8, 1982 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on November 28, 1998 Vicar Apostolic of San Vicente-Puerto Leguízamo and Titular Bishop of Aquae Novae in Numidia . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Jozef Tomko , ordained him episcopal on February 11 of the following year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Paolo Romeo , Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , and Luis Augusto Castro Quiroga IMC, Archbishop of Tunja .

With the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate to the Diocese of San Vicente del Caguán on May 30, 2019, he was appointed its first diocesan bishop . The inauguration took place on August 10 of the same year.
