Frank Diettrich

Frank Diettrich (born October 10, 1939 in Chemnitz ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Frank Diettrich was born in Chemnitz in 1939 as the son of the sculptor Hanns Diettrich and the singer and pianist Alice Diettrich. From 1954 to 1957 he completed an apprenticeship as a stone mason and stone sculptor. From 1957 to 1962 he studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts with Walter Arnold , Gerd Jaeger and Hans Steger . Diettrich graduated with a diploma in plastic in 1962. In 1975/1976 he was appointed to a master class at the Berlin Academy of the Arts with Gerhard Geyer and completed his studies with the title of master class . From 1963 to 1968 he worked as a circle leader in the city cabinet for cultural work in what was then Karl-Marx-Stadt. From 1962 to 1990 Diettrich worked as a freelance academic sculptor in Karl-Marx-Stadt / Chemnitz and was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR . Since 1991 he has been involved in artistic activities as a qualified sculptor as well as sculptural restoration and has been a full member of the Society of Visual Artists of the Künstlerhaus Wien on Karlsplatz since 1996 . In 1993 he started a stone cutting company. He has also been Director of Sculpture & Forming Art Limited in Neukirchen / Erzgebirge since 2006 . Study trips took him to Czechoslovakia in 1958 and to the USSR in 1967 . Frank Diettrich is a member of the Chemnitzer Künstlerbund and the Federal Association of Visual Artists .
