Frank Dudda (born May 15, 1963 in Herne ) is a German local politician ( SPD ) and has been Lord Mayor of Herne since 2015.

Life

After high school at Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium in his home town, he made his first basic military service in 2./Nachschubbataillon 7 in Unna-Königsborn now and then (1984-1989) studied at the Ruhr-University Bochum law . Between 1989 and 1992 he was a research assistant at the chair for public law under Friedrich Eberhard Schnapp and later at the institute for social law . In 1996 he did his doctorate on the internal structure of health insurance carriers according to the Health Structure Act. From 1997 he was an employee and from 2002 a partner in a law firm in Essen . His main activity from 1997 to 2015 was that of the managing director of the Federal Association of Independent Physiotherapists - IFK e. V. in Bochum. In addition, he was legal advisor for the Federal Association of Medicinal Products Associations (BHV) eV and lecturer at the Academy of the BKK Federal Association in Rotenburg an der Fulda and the IKK Academy in Hagen . He is a board member of the Friends of the Ruhr University Bochum.

Frank Dudda is married and has one son.

politics

Since 1982 he has been a member of the SPD in the local association Herne-Stamm, in which he holds the position of deputy chairman. Since November 1994 Dudda has been the city councilor without interruption, and from October 1, 2004 until his election as mayor, he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. On October 25, 2014, he was unanimously proposed as a candidate for mayor by the SPD sub-district executive and elected with 90% of the vote by the sub-district party conference on November 19. On September 13, 2015, he was elected Lord Mayor of the City of Herne with 55.9% in the first ballot. He was sworn in on October 20, 2015.
