Josef Walter (politician, 1900)

Josef Walter (born July 13, 1900 in Herne ; † January 24, 1974 ibid) was a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school with the Abitur , he studied at the University of Cologne and the Administration Academy in Düsseldorf . He passed the first and second state exams and worked for the city of Kiel , the Landesarbeitsamt Westfalen-Lippe and the Ministry of Labor in Düsseldorf and as a lawyer in Herne. After 1933 he was imprisoned for 27 months for political reasons.

From April 20, 1947 to July 4, 1954, Walter was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in the constituency 100 Herne.
