Hermann Meyerhoff (born May 27, 1888 in Göttingen , † July 3, 1970 in Herne ) was mayor and senior city director of the city ​​of Herne .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1910, Hermann Meyerhoff studied law and political science in Bonn , Freiburg and Munich and passed his first state examination in 1913. He took part in the First World War as an artillery officer and became a prisoner of war. After the assessor exam, first as a magistrate's assessor and later as a magistrate's councilor at the Geestemünde city ​​administration , he was most recently a senator in the finance department of the city of Wesermünde . In the period from June 27, 1927 to April 10, 1945 Meyerhoff was the second mayor of the city of Herne. During this time he was also city treasurer and from August 1942 to April 1943 was entrusted with the administration of the mayor's affairs. The military government installed him on April 21, 1945 as the first mayor. His election as senior city director in Herne fell on March 3, 1947. He remained in this position until his retirement on May 31, 1953.

Meyerhoff initially belonged to the center and from 1933 was non-party. From 1946 to 1953 he was a member of the Westphalian Provincial Committee.
