Frank Fasi
Frank Francis Fasi (born August 27, 1920 in Hartford , Connecticut , † February 4, 2010 in Makiki , Hawaii ) was an American politician . He served as the longest-serving mayor of the capital, Honolulu . He was also a member of the Hawaii Territory Senate and a member of the Honolulu City Council .
First steps in life
As a teenager he attended Trinity College in Hartford. After the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and ended up in the Pacific Fleet . After completing his service in 1944, Fasi settled in Honolulu, where he made a name for himself as a building contractor in the field of building demolition.
Political career
In 1958, Fasi went into politics and won the first try as representative of his district in the Senate of the. His term was interrupted when the statehood and territorial legislation of Hawaii were dissolved in 1959. He returned to his company's desk but ran again in 1965 and won a seat on the Honolulu City Council , where he served as a city councilor until 1968.
