Frank Hämmerle

Frank Horst Hämmerle (born August 22, 1952 in Tübingen ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). He was district administrator for the district of Konstanz from October 1997 to April 2019.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1971, Hämmerle did his military service in the German Armed Forces at the Kepler Gymnasium in Tübingen . In 1973 he began studying law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , graduating with the first state examination in 1978 and the second state examination in 1981 . Hämmerle then worked as a departmental advisor until 1983 and from 1983 to 1994 as an administrative department head in the Konstanz district office. From December 1, 1994 to August 31, 1997, he was on leave to carry out a project in the public interest in the Free State of Saxony . He was particularly active as a manager and member of the management team for the establishment of the neurological rehabilitation center in Bennewitz near Leipzig.

Political career

In 1992 he ran for Mayor of Radolfzell on Lake Constance , but was just defeated by the then incumbent Günter Neurohr in the second ballot . On July 14, 1997, the district council elected him in the second ballot with 40 out of 76 votes to the district administrator of the district of Constance. He succeeded Robert Maus , who had been district administrator since 1973. Hämmerle took up his post on October 2, 1997. With no opposing candidate, he was re-elected in 2005 with 92.06% and in 2013 with 76.19% of the vote. Hämmerle has been Deputy President of the Baden-Württemberg District Assembly and Chairman of the Legal and Constitutional Committee since 2012 . In addition, he is a member of the Constitutional and European Committee of the German District Assembly . On October 22, 2018, Hämmerle announced his resignation as of April 30, 2019. Zeno Danner succeeded him in office as district administrator.

Other offices

In his role as district administrator, Hämmerle was, among other things, chairman of the supervisory board of the Konstanz district health association, the waste management company for the Bodenseekreis and Konstanz districts and the Hegau-Bodensee transport association (VHB) . He is also chairman of the shareholders 'committee and the shareholders' meeting of Bodensee-Standort-Marketing GmbH, the DRK district association Konstanz, the art foundation district Konstanz and the Otto-Dix -Haus foundation. As General Secretary he is a member of the board of the Calypso Networks Association based in Brussels.

Private

Frank Hämmerle is the son of Tübingen's local politician and honorary citizen Alma Hämmerle , who is also a member of the CDU. He is married and has two grown daughters.
