Frank Hartmann (born August 17, 1960 in Hanover ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Emerging from the youth of TSV Havelse , Hartmann received a licensed player contract for the 2nd Bundesliga North at Hannover 96 .

His professional debut took place in Hanover: On August 29, 1980, the 96ers came in the first round of the DFB Cup to an 8-1 win at home against Borussia Hanover . He made his second division debut on September 30th (11th matchday) in a 2-0 win in the away game against OSV Hannover . His first goal in the professional field meant the 3-1 final score in the home game against Holstein Kiel on November 12th (matchday 12) ; he scored the goal in the 85th minute - two minutes after being substituted on for Karsten Surmann .

After four seasons, he moved to the 1985/86 season for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich , for which he only got his first appearance in the European Cup on October 2, 1985 against Górnik Zabrze . The game ended with 4: 1 goals in Munich and Hartmann scored the interim 2: 1. On October 8, 1985 (4th matchday) he made his Bundesliga debut against his "old" club; in the 6-0 home win over Hannover 96, he scored the 3-0. Two years with FC Bayern Munich brought him his greatest sporting successes: In the first season he contributed to winning the championship in 19 games with four goals and was in the DFB Cup final on May 3, 1986 against VfB Stuttgart in the 84th .Minute came on for the triple goalscorer Roland Wohlfarth . So also on August 16, 1986 (2nd matchday), when he was substituted in the 66th minute for this, in the away encounter at Fortuna Düsseldorf, which Bayern won 3-0. The 24-minute mission was his last for Munich, because he returned - due to a lack of assertiveness - back to Hanover. With six hits in 24 games, he contributed to the rise of the 96, for which he scored once in twelve missions the following season.

A during the season 1987/88 suffered knee ligament led his professional career at the end. Hartmann played 32 Bundesliga games and scored five goals and 158 second division games, in which he scored 47 goals.

After that he was only active in celebrity teams and for low-class amateur clubs for several years. At the same time, together with Karsten Surmann, he built Soccer Park Hannover GmbH , a hall for soccer, tennis, squash and badminton, of which he is still the managing director today.

Coach Werner Biskup persuaded Frank Hartmann to return to higher-class football in 1994. Together with Karsten Surmann , Martin Giesel and Bastian Hellberg , with whom he had already made promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with Hannover 96 under Biskup in 1985, he tried to bring VfL Osnabrück back to the 2nd Bundesliga. While his return succeeded with 32 games and 12 goals, VfL just missed promotion.

He then completed two more seasons in the Lower Saxony league at Turkish SV Damla Genç and then returned to his former youth club TSV Havelse as a player-coach. In July 2000 he gave up the post after quarrels with the main sponsor.
