From the beginnings of the vocational school system in Walldürn to the Second World War

There was a trade school in Walldürn since 1865. In 1926, with the opening of a "commercial college", a commercial school was set up in the rooms of the elementary school. In 1928 the commercial vocational school began teaching. In 1938 the “ Higher Commercial School ” opened. Schools were closed during the Second World War .

School operations resume after the war

With approval from the American military government , the commercial vocational school and the higher commercial school were allowed to teach again from 1946. In 1952 a " business school " was opened. In 1956 the school building for the business school was rebuilt. In 1971 a sports hall was built. In 1980 an extension of the Frankenland School could be inaugurated.

The Frankenland School in the 21st century

In 2002, the 50th anniversary of the business school at the Frankenlandschule was celebrated. Extensive renovation work was carried out on the school sports hall from 2017 to 2018.

The training at the vocational college is intended to convey theoretical and practical knowledge that enables graduates to cope with commercial and administrative activities in fields of information technology. At the same time, it is intended to expand general education. The Frankenlandschule was selected by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture to participate in the school experiment on the use of tablets in the classroom since the 2016/2017 school year . A practice firm is an establishment where students in a class run a simulated business. You trade in virtual goods and money with other practice firms. However, these legal transactions are void. The school's training companies are: Marsbacher GmbH (training company in the business school; sponsor company: Seitenbacher GmbH, Buchen) and Zweiradbande GmbH (training company in the business school; sponsoring company: Zweirad Kreis GbR, Walldürn).

Junior company

The main difference between a training company and a junior company is that the junior company really participates in the market, works with capital and trades in real products, which brings economic success but also the risk of business failure. In addition, a junior company is structured like a small company in terms of its operational and organizational structure and thus promotes the professional qualifications of the students through practical experience (e.g. planning and implementation of marketing campaigns).
