Franz Hoffmann (architect, 1881)

Franz Hoffmann (* 1881 ; † 1948 ) was a German architect who left behind listed residential buildings , especially in Hanover (today) .

Life

Franz Hoffmann was still active in Hanover at the time of the German Empire for the housing cooperative Spar- und Bauverein , for which he built the building complex Schlosswender Garten (today: Brüggemannhof ) in the local style. At the time of the Weimar Republic , he completed the northern part of the Brüggemannhof in the same architectural style , but then, together with Walter Saran ( Saran & Hoffmann office ), delivered partial plans for the Kleefeld garden city developed under city director Karl Elkart and garden director Hermann Kube , which in clinker construction and "traditional block-square-street formation" were originally intended for "the better-off workers and the middle class ".

Franz Hoffmann died after the end of the Second World War in the year the Federal Republic of Germany was founded in 1948.
