Franz Kobald

Franz Kobald (born September 19, 1866 in Schwaz ; † June 21, 1933 there ) was an Austrian sculptor .

Life

The son of a miner studied at the trade school in Innsbruck with Dominikus Trenkwalder and then went on study trips to Venice , Rome and Germany. Since 1888 he ran a sculpture workshop in Schwaz, in which he mainly created religious sculptures from sample books . He also ran a master school in which Ludwig Penz and Tobias Plankensteiner were his students.
