Franz Lotz

Franz Georg Heinrich Lotz (born April 18, 1822 in Cassel ; † May 12, 1906 there ) was a councilor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Lotz was the son of the government director Philipp Friedrich Karl Lotz (1784–1863). He attended the Fridericianum in Cassel until 1835 and the Hanauer Gymnasium until 1840. Between 1840 and 1845 he studied law in Marburg , Heidelberg and Berlin . In 1846 he received his doctorate in Marburg and completed his habilitation there in 1849. In 1845 he became a senior court trainee in Hanau, Fulda and Marburg, and from 1846 to 1849 he was a private lecturer at the University of Marburg .

From 1850 he went into the civil service and was head of department in the Ministry of the Interior and in 1852 general secretary in the entire Ministry. Between 1853 and 1866 he was a consultant for church and school affairs, and in 1856 he was appointed to the government council. In 1866 he moved to the district association and became a member of the management of the Landeskreditkasse, which he remained until his retirement in 1899.

From 1884 to March 1886 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Kassel 2 Kassel , Melsungen and the German Conservative Party .
