Franz Michael Vierthaler
Franz Michael Vierthaler (born September 25, 1758 in Mauerkirchen , Upper Austria; † October 3, 1827 in Vienna ) was a pedagogue and school reformer, writer and journalist.
Vierthaler became the first director of the first teachers' seminar in the German-speaking area in Salzburg in 1790 . Vierthaler developed teaching methods and teaching principles and wrote school books and children's books. In 1800 he took over the editing and management of the Salzburger Intellektivenblatt , the state newspaper of Salzburg and the literary newspaper of Salzburg .
The Vierthaler street in Vienna- Meidling was named in 1894 after him.
