Franz shuddered

Franz Schauerte (born March 15, 1848 in Schmallenberg - Oberberndorf ; † September 6, 1910 there ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and author. He worked as provost in Magdeburg .

Life

Franz Schauerte was born in Oberberndorf in 1848 as the son of a farmer. After attending a grammar school in Paderborn , he studied philosophy and Catholic theology . In 1874 he was ordained a priest . Eight years later he received his first pastor's position at St. Wigbert in Erfurt . In 1893 he received his doctorate in Freiburg with a thesis on Christina of Sweden . In the following years he published other books.

With the assumption of the Magdeburg provost office as successor to Kaspar Friedrich Brieden , Schauerte also became dean for the dean's office in Magdeburg and episcopal commissioner in Magdeburg in 1901 . During his tenure in 1906 the Marienstift in Magdeburg-Wilhelmstadt was completed . In 1909, Schauer resigned his office and moved to Thale . Shortly before his death in 1910, he took over the parish in Neuhaus Castle . Franz Schauerte died on September 6, 1910 in his birthplace.
