Franz Sniegon

Franz Sniegon (also: Francis Sniegon or Franciszek Śniegoń ; * October 2, 1809 in Teschen ; † July 3, 1891 Teschen ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop of the Austrian part of the diocese of Breslau .

Life

After attending grammar school in Teschen, Franz Sniegon studied philosophy in Brno and theology in Olomouc . On November 25, 1832 he received in Wroclaw the priesthood . From 1832 he was priest in Teschen, from 1840 pastor in Leszna Górna (Ober Lischna) , from 1841 in Trzynietz and from 1850 dean in Jablunkau and from 1855 pastor there. From 1872 he was pastor again in Teschen. In the same year on July 11th he was appointed vicar general in Teschen. On August 9, 1883, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Breslau and titular bishop of Tanis . On September 30, 1883 he was in Cieszyn by the Wroclaw Bishop Robert Duke bishop consecrated ; The co- consecrator was the Kraków bishop Albin Dunajewski .

Franz Sniegon consecrated some churches in Trzynietz, Chekhovitz , Pierściec (Perstetz) and the chapel of the Holy Family in Teschen. His body was buried on July 7, 1891 in the cemetery of St. George's Church.
