Act

Painting "Forest Landscape" by Franz Xaver von Riedmüller. Engraving by Carl August Deis.

“The objects he often depicts in moonlight are reed-rich banks of lakes, lonely forest grounds with lush vegetation or high mountains with rugged peaks and wild mountain waters. Among the best of them with a fine mood and poetic feeling are: the (almost destroyed) Heidenlöcher at Überlinger See, Köhlerhütte, Partie vom Königssee, Bodensee, Wallensee, Berchtesgaden, the Black Forest, the Maderaner Thal u. a. His charcoal drawings and watercolors are also very much appreciated. "
