Franz von Unterrichter

Franz von Unterrichter (born December 19, 1775 in Kaltern , † December 30, 1867 in Graz ) was a South Tyrolean poet , lawyer and politician and a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Franz von Unterrichter attended high school in Innsbruck and then studied at the University of Philosophy and Law . In 1848 he was elected as a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the constituency on the Adige with the capital Bolzano . After the departure of the Austrian parliamentarians in April 1849, he devoted himself entirely to his passion for writing, from which, in addition to his political writings (draft of a state constitution for Germany), around 25 dramas and translations come.

Unlike most of the other Tyrolean MPs, he did not focus on safeguarding Tyrolean religious unity. Although he was the only Tyrolean to represent the nobility, he had a highly liberal view of the world and saw himself as a representative of civil servants and the economy. The focus of his interest was the implementation of the Greater German solution and the creation of an all-German army under a hereditary monarchy.

His son Karl (1816–1902) married Amalie von Putzer (* 1824), daughter of the Reichsrat member Johann Putzer von Reibegg . They had numerous children.

A great-grandson, Marius Günther von Unterrichter , was a founding member of the South Tyrolean People's Party in 1945 and a member of the South Tyrolean state parliament from 1952 to 1960 .
