Franziska Gude
Franziska "Franzi" Gude (born March 19, 1976 in Göttingen ) is a former German hockey player , she won the 2004 Olympic gold medal.
Franziska Gude started playing hockey at HC Göttingen . In 1995 she moved to DHC Hannover and after one season she moved to Rot-Weiss Köln . In 1998, 2003 and 2007 she won the German championship with the Cologne women, in 1999 she won the European Cup Winners 'Cup and in 2000 the European Cup Winners' Cup.
In 1998 Franziska Gude made her debut in the German national hockey team and won her first international medal at the 1999 European Championship in her adopted home of Cologne when the German team lost to the Netherlands in the final . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , the German team took seventh place. In 2002 Franziska Gude won the European Indoor Hockey Championship with the German team. At the field hockey world championship in Perth in 2002 , the German team finished seventh, as at the Olympic Games. The first indoor hockey world championship was held in Leipzig in 2003, and the German team won the title. The German women won bronze outdoors at the 2003 European Championships in Barcelona. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Franziska Gude took part in all six games; In the final, the German women won 2-1 over the Netherlands, Franziska Gude scored the German team's second goal.
For winning the gold medal in 2004, she and the team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on April 16, 2005.
After several years of international break, Franziska Gude returned to the national team in January 2008 for the European indoor hockey championship and won the title again. Franziska Gude played a total of 168 international matches, 21 of them indoors.
Franziska Gude is a qualified sports teacher and teacher for English, Spanish and sports.
