action

In Kremmen , a small town in the Oberhavel district , there are fewer and fewer women. Everyone leaves their homeland to look for happiness in the big city. This displeases the marriageable men who are still looking for women in vain. The village macho Ben, who often spends his time with his two friends Steffen and Mario, gives them good tips on how to best impress women, but unfortunately there is no implementation.

When one day the beautiful fashion designer Maja Rebner appears to sell her aunt's old weaving mill , Ben is very interested. Not only for the weaving mill, but also for the saleswoman. He actually already knew her from childhood, but would never have expected to see such an attractive woman in front of him now. The whole local population stopped in amazement when they got there. Ben wants to keep the purchase price down at all costs and when Maja first wants to call in an appraiser to have the property taxed, Ben simply provides Steffen Petzke with it. He instructs him on what to point out. In the evening she meets with Ben in the local pub, where Steffen and Mario, among others, also meet. In an illustrious group, Maja gives the men tips on how to make themselves a little more attractive to the ladies so that they don't run away in a row. Ben uses all his seduction skills to get Maja to bed. He secretly bets Steffen that it won't take long either. Since everyone had drunk a lot that evening, it wasn't difficult to achieve. The next morning Maja is horrified and quickly retires. As a distraction, she helps Mario, the farmer, with his cows. He confesses to her that he is determined to end his single life. He asks her to give him some advice, because after all she is a fashion expert and also a woman. Already in the evening he appears freshly styled and coiffed at his friends. An initial success on his personal ad makes him really happy. But in the end it turns out that his friends had ordered the lady from an escort service for him.

Meanwhile Maja takes a trip into the past. Photos in her aunt's closet let her reminisce about her childhood. An excursion with Ben to the places where she grew up makes her think about staying in Kremmen and getting the old weaving mill up and running again. Then she is extremely astonished when Ben invites her over. The apartment is very modern and tastefully decorated, which she did not expect. But what she doesn't know: He only pretends to be the owner of the house because the home, which is worth seeing, belongs to one of his lovers. Impressed by all of this, Maja continues to have an affair with him that seems to have ended the moment her boyfriend Luca shows up in Kremmen. As a well-groomed gentleman, this makes a corresponding impression on the remaining Kemmener ladies. Especially Doreen Schubert, who has lived with Steffen for eight years and has only been annoyed with him recently, is enthusiastic about Luca.

However, Luca quickly finds out that Maja slept with Ben. Annoyed, he ends their relationship and drives away again. Maja goes to Ben with slight feelings of guilt, who is not at all right that she now shows up with him. A real estate agent bought the weaving mill that Maja had given him for 70,000 for 290,000. She also learns about the bet with Steffen. She is so upset about it that she wants to cancel the purchase. Doreen is also disappointed with Steffen's behavior and wants to accompany Maja when she leaves Kemmen.

In the meantime Mario has dealt with the concerns of women and what they really want and passes on his findings to the village men. He does a real fitness and behavior course with them, gives dance lessons and coaches them in everything they need to know about women. Before long, his work is bearing fruit. One after the other finds a girlfriend, including himself. Most of the time it is women from the village who have not even noticed them the whole time. Steffen also advertises his Doreen and even makes her a marriage proposal, which she happily accepts.

However, Ben is devastated. He asks Maja for forgiveness, but she doesn't want to have anything more to do with him. She is too disappointed. That doesn't even convince her when he tears up the sales contract. When his friends find out how serious he is about Maja, they decide to help him. They block the street so that she cannot leave Kemmen. Ben surprises her with a freshly set up art weaving mill that he set up for her in his old workshop. He confesses his love to her and she forgives him.

A short time later the weaving mill flourished and Maja succeeded in delivering her fabrics to Milan with the help of Luca. The local women find work with her and have no reason to leave Kemmen.

Reviews

Lexicon of International Films says about this comedy:

"Turbulent (television) comedy about a gender struggle, which in this case the not so weak sex wins."

At Kino.de , Tilmann P. Gangloff judges :

“Oertel plays macho with a lot of devotion and a grim look. Director Thomas Nennstiel stages the story at the pace of rural tranquility. [...] 'Women want more' is worth seeing, [...] because the screenplay Mario, his cronies and their various women (including Liane Forestieri) always have pretty little scenes on the fringes granted. "

Also TV movie says:

“With often successful situation comedy, director Thomas Nennstiel [...] educates the dilapidated world of men to occasionally change their underpants and also to chat with the lady of the heart. Of course, you have to accept some stereotypes and the breaking up of crowbars. "
