Frauenborn is the smallest district of the Herleshausen community in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .
geography
The village is surrounded by forest on the Frauenborn brook. State road 3247 leads through the village on its way from Herleshausen to the northern district of Altefeld.
history
The small town was first mentioned in 1545.
An old nursery rhyme reads: Frauenborn, the big city with only 13 houses and the bakery included, is all about witchcraft .
On April 1, 1969, the previously independent place was incorporated into the municipality of Herleshausen as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
