Unhausen is a district of the municipality of Herleshausen in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

There is no main road through the village . On the outskirts of the village leads the federal highway 400 , which ends near the village at the junction Wommen on the federal highway 4 . The next larger towns are Eisenach (approx. 20 km away) and Eschwege (approx. 26 km away). Kassel , the closest major Hessian city, is about 70 km away.

history

Unhausen was first mentioned in 1543. In 1592 the place was called Nonhausen . This place name designation is derived from some historians from Nonnenhausen . From 1545 to 1824 Unhausen belonged to the Brandenfels family and thus to the fief of the Treusch von Buttlar family . From 1585 the place belonged to the Sontra Office , from 1818 to the Netra Justice Office and from 1821 to the Eschwege district .

On 1 December 1970, he was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse , the voluntary merger of municipalities Altefeld, Archfeld, Breitzbach, Herleshausen (with Frauenborn) Holzhausen, markers Hausen, Nesselröden, Unhausen, Willershausen and Wommen for greater community Herleshausen

Unhausen is a church branch of Nesselröden .
