The Friedenskirche is a Protestant church in Kirkel-Neuhäusel in Saarland , a district of the Kirkel community . The church is the parish church of the Protestant parish Kirkel-Neuhäusel in the deanery Homburg the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate . The church is listed as an individual monument in the Saarland's list of monuments .

history

The church was built between 1876 and 1878 according to plans by the architect Ludwig Rottenmüller ( Homburg ). From 1967 to 1971 the church was subjected to a restoration . Another restoration took place from 2003 to 2005 under the direction of the architect Horst Binkle (Kirkel).

Church building

The church building was built as a neo-Gothic hall church with five window axes , a three-sided choir and an open roof . In front of the nave is a church tower with a pointed helmet .

The wooden structure of the open roof and the colorful windows in the chancel are remarkable .

organ

The organ of the church was built in 1890 by the organ builder Heinrich Voit ( Durlach ). In 1972 or as early as 1965, Lotar Hintz ( Heusweiler ) carried out a renovation with a redesign of the prospectus . In 2005, the instrument was partially renovated by Peter Ohlert (Kirkel). In 2010 Ohlert installed a new register that replaced an older one. The organ has 16 registers, divided into 2 manuals and pedal . The wind chests are mechanical cone chests . The organ is set up on a gallery . The gaming table is free-standing.
