Friedrich Eduard Reusch (also von Reusch ; born April 17, 1812 in Kirchheim unter Teck , † July 22, 1891 in Stuttgart ) was a German physicist .

Life and accomplishments

Friedrich Eduard Reusch attended the local Latin school, from 1826 to 1830 the theological seminar in Urach and from 1830 to 1834 the theological monastery in Tübingen . He studied from 1835 to 1837 at the École polytechnique and then at the Sorbonne in Paris . Reusch was first senior realteacher and teacher of mechanics and mechanical engineering at the Stuttgart Polytechnic before becoming a full professor of physics at the University of Tübingen from 1851 to 1884 , succeeding Johann Gottlieb Nörrenberg . There he also gave lectures on mechanical engineering and technology at the state economics faculty (1855–1871).

On October 6, 1873, he was appointed a member of the Leopoldina for the physics and meteorology section.
