Friedrich Floering

Friedrich Wilhelm August Flöring (born November 4, 1859 in Darmstadt ; † June 20, 1941 there ) was a German Protestant theologian and member of parliament .

Life

Friedrich Flöring was the son of the dye works owner Friedrich Flöring and his wife Sophie née Heberer (1817-1901), the widow of the master dyer Anton Hofmann in Rödelheim. On August 18, 1892 in Darmstadt, he married Marie Sophie Luise Antonie, née Koeniger (1861–1915), the daughter of Captain Hermann Friedrich Karl Julius Georg Heinrich Ludwig Koeniger. Their daughter Marie (1896–1987) married the architect and government master builder Wilhelm Pfuhl (1893–1943) in 1929 and, after the divorce on April 3, 1934, the Darmstadt dramaturge Hans-Joachim Weitz.

From 1880 he studied theology at the University of Gießen and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. From 1883 to 1884 he was vicar in Kettenheim and provisional religion teacher at the Alzey teacher training college. From 1884 to 1885 he was vicar in Bickenbach, from 1885 to 1893 pastor in Darmstadt and from 1893 to 1900 full professor of theology at the Friedberg seminary and pastor there.

1901 to 1929 he was senior consistorial advisor (or from 1922 senior church advisor) and superintendent of the Starkenburg province . From 1907 to 1914 he was a prelate and thus spiritual director of the Evangelical Church in Hesse . In 1914 he was honored with the title of a privy councilor . Associated with the function of prelate was a virile vote in the first chamber of the estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . On November 20, 1907, he took his deputy oath. In 1914 he left the office of prelate at his own request and was retired in 1929.
