Friedrich III. (To bathe)

Margrave Friedrich III. von Baden also called Pacificus (the peacemaker) (* 1327 ; † September 2, 1353 ) was Margrave of Baden from 1348 until his death .

Life

He was the son of Rudolf IV of Baden († June 25, 1348) and Marie von Oettingen († June 10, 1369), the daughter of Count Friedrich I of Oettingen . In 1348 he took over the government together with his brother Rudolf . He had his residence in Baden-Baden .

Marriage and offspring

Friedrich III. von Baden married Margareta von Baden († September 1, 1367), daughter of Margrave Rudolf Hesso von Baden , around 1345 . The following children were born from the marriage:

Rudolf VI. of Baden († March 21, 1372)
Margarete, married Count Gottfried II of Leiningen-Rixingen († around 1380) on November 10, 1363 and, in her second marriage, Count Heinrich von Lützelstein († 1394)
