Friedrich Lorenz (born January 7, 1925 in Hochdobern , Czechoslovakia ; † June 15, 2012 in Güstrow ) was a German engineer and local researcher.

Life

After an apprenticeship at the Telegraph Construction Office in Dresden, he received his journeyman's certificate as a telecommunications tradesman . From 1943 he was a soldier and was taken prisoner by the British as a radio operator in the Navy . Different activities from 1946 to 1949. He then completed a special course in 1949 at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1950 he taught electricians and radio mechanics at the vocational schools in Güstrow and Krakow am See .

After a distance learning at the Engineering School Mittweida and the Technical University of Dresden , he moved to the Pedagogical Institute Güstrow in 1964. In 1967 he was awarded a Dr. paed. PhD . Since 1969 lecturer , habilitation he did in 1977 at the Pedagogical University of Erfurt Dr. sc. paed. In 1980 he became a full professor for the Chair of Technical Systems . In 1990 he retired .

From 1999 he worked on the project Environmentally Friendly City of Güstrow (renewable energy sources) and was still a lecturer at the TÜV Academy in Güstrow. His hobbies were carving and regional history . He participated in exhibitions in Güstrow, Krakow am See and Ribe . Individual objects by him were exhibited in Brussels , Warnemünde and Kühlungsborn .

From 1997 to 2012 he published articles in the Güstrow Yearbook every year .
