Friedrich Peters (politician)

Friedrich Peters (born May 21, 1906 in Braunschweig , † March 21, 1977 in Soltau ) was a German local politician ( DP ). From 1953 to 1955 he was Lord Mayor of the Lower Saxony city ​​of Wilhelmshaven , later he was City Director in Soltau.

Life

Peters grew up in Braunschweig , where he also completed his Abitur. He then completed a construction apprenticeship in order to begin studying economics , which he finished with a diploma. From 1933 to 1934 Peters assistant was at the Institute for World Economics in Kiel . In 1935 he received his doctorate in Marburg . He later worked, among other things, as a legal advisor at the Reichswerke and between 1939 and 1941 was head of the department for aid and support in the workers' office at the Kriegsmarinewerft in Wilhelmshaven . From 1941 to 1947, Peters was a social officer at the construction company Hermann Möller, after which he went freelance as a business economist.

From 1952 to 1956 Peters was a member of the Wilhelmshaven City Council for the German Party . In December 1953, the council elected him mayor. He held this post until 1955. During that time he was chairman of the personnel and finance committee and also a member of the main and municipal utility committee. In June 1957 the council of the Lower Saxony city of Soltau elected him city director, and he was responsible for managing the administration there until 1971.
