Friedrich Pfeffer (born March 2, 1888 in Limbach ; † June 20, 1946 in special camp No. 2 Buchenwald ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( DVP ).

Life and work

Friedrich Pfeffer was born on March 2, 1888 as the son of a factory owner in Limbach. After attending elementary school, junior high school and graduating from the High School in Gotha , he took a degree in law at the universities of Jena , Berlin and Munich in which he both law degree and in 1912 with the promotion of Dr. jur. finished. He then entered the administrative service of the Duchy of Gotha . In 1915 he took over the provisional administration of the Gotha district office and in 1917 became head of the economic department of the district committee in Weißenfels .

Pfeffer had been managing director of the employers' association and other associations in Gotha since 1919. In 1931 he became a managing member of the presidency of the Association of Central German Industry in Weimar . From 1933 to 1939 he acted as managing director of the "Reichsgruppe Banken".

In 1920, Pfeffer was the People's Representative and member of the regional council (state government) of the Free State of Saxony-Gotha , which became part of the State of Thuringia in the same year . From 1921 he was a senator and city councilor in Gotha. In the Reichstag election in December 1924 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he was a member until July 1932. From November 1932 to March 1933 he was again a member of the Reichstag, most recently as a member of the Technical Working Group (TA). In parliament he represented the constituency of Thuringia.
