Friedrich Wilhelm Count Taube von Odenkat ( Swedish : Fredrik Vilhelm Taube af Odenkat ; July 9, 1813 in Åsbergby ( Sweden ); † June 8, 1888 in Stockholm , first name: Friedrich) was a Swedish count and major general . He came from the noble family of the German-Swedish-Baltic " von Taube ".

Career

Friedrich Wilhelm Taube began his military career in 1832 as a cadet in the "Mounted Life Guard" and was promoted to lieutenant in 1838 . In 1842 he was promoted to Rittmeister and in 1845 to Staff Riding Master . In 1846 he took up the position of regimental quartermaster and in 1848 became chief of a squadron . In 1854 he was named a Knight of the Order of the Sword . In 1855 he served in the body regiment of the Hussar Corps and was promoted to major and later to lieutenant colonel. In 1858 he was made a knight of the Saint Olav Order and in the same year took over the command of the Småland Hussar Regiment. In 1865 he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Sword decorated . In 1874 he was promoted to major general in the Swedish army . On January 16, 1888, he took his leave.

Count Friedrich Wilhelm Taube was the son of Gustaf Diedrich Count Taube von Odenkat (1761–1822) and his wife Anna Margareta von Strokirch (1786–1861). Friedrich Wilhelm married the Baroness Constance Julie Henriette Leuhusen (1818-1892) in 1838, his wife and he found their final resting place in Eksjö . The three daughters Hedvig Fredrique Beate Julie (1839–1843), Julie Henriette Sofie (1841–1901) and Hedvig Charlotte Constance (1844–1850) emerged from their marriage.
