Friedrich Wilhelm Prince of Isenburg and Büdingen (born December 30, 1730 in Birstein , † October 22, 1804 in Mannheim ) was a lieutenant general in Bavaria .

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm zu Isenburg and Büdingen was the youngest son of Count and later Prince Wolfgang Ernst I and his third wife, Countess Charlotte Amalie zu Isenburg-Meerholz.

He was first brought up in the parental home. He joined the Spanish military early on. But in 1767 he moved to the Electoral Palatinate-Bavarian service, where he gradually rose to become Lieutenant General. He became the owner of several regiments: 1778–1785 Isenburg cuirassiers, 1789–1790 Isenburg riders, 1790–1792 Isenburg infantry, 2nd Isenburg Feldjäger Regiment , 1792 commander of the 1st grenadier and body regiment. He was also the first royal chamberlain, commander of the Alexander Nevsky Order and the Tuscan Order of St. Stephen .

After the Napoleonic occupation, the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 assigned him a pension of 23,000 guilders from the proceeds of the Rheinschifffahrt- Octroy as compensation, which later, like Reipoltskirchen etc., was incorporated into the Isenburg Family Fideikommiss.

Friedrich Wilhelm converted to the Catholic Church in 1763 and married Countess Karoline Franziska Dorothea von Parkstein , a half-sister of the Prince of Bretzenheim and natural daughter of the Elector Karl Theodor of Palatinate-Bavaria , on October 25, 1776 at the Hermitage Palace in Waghäusel , Sternkreuz- Order lady , who brought her husband shares in the Reipoltskirchen rule and other possessions on the left bank of the Rhine. The couple had the following children:
