Fritz Schwarz (architect)
Fritz Schwarz (born April 29, 1930 in Zurich ) is a Swiss architect .
Life
Fritz Schwarz began studying architecture at the ETH Zurich in 1948 . In 1953 he graduated from Hans Hofmann and William Dunkel . He then worked for Ernst Schindler in Zurich. Fritz Schwarz then founded his own office in Zurich in 1955 . In 1956 the collaboration with fellow architect Hans Litz began. In 1959, Schwarz traveled to Mexico and the USA for a year to get to know a different architecture there. In 1961 he married Liza Schwarz, the owner of “Neumarkt 17” in Zurich. In the meantime, Schwarz worked at the Architects Collaborative in Boston and at Charles M. Goodman in New York. Fritz Schwarz was the secretary of the working group for urban development . In 1995 Fritz Schwarz and his son Lucas Schwarz founded the Zurich architects Schwarz und Schwarz.

Memberships
In 1965, Schwarz was appointed to the Association of Swiss Architects . He was the driving force behind the foundation of the Zurich Architecture Forum. From 1987 to 1992 Schwarz was its first president. He is a member of the Swiss Werkbund and the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects.
