Fritz Thiemes

Fritz Thiemes (1954)

Fritz Thiemes (born October 29, 1914 in Mahlow , Zossen district) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was chairman of the Berlin district committee of the DBD and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR.

Life

Thiemes, the son of a small farmer, attended secondary school and learned to be a baker and confectioner from 1932 to 1935 . In 1935/36 he worked in his parents' farm, did military service from 1936 and became a prisoner of war . From 1945 to 1958 he was the tenant of a farm in Berlin-Buch , from 1958 a member and deputy chairman of the LPG "Frohe Zukunft" in Berlin-Buch.

In 1948 he joined the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) and in 1951 the DBD. From 1949 he was a member of the city council of the VdgB. In 1952 he was a co-founder of the first working group of working individual farmers in Greater Berlin. From 1957 to 1960 he worked as deputy chairman, from 1960 to 1963 as chairman and then again from January 12, 1963 as deputy chairman of the DBD district executive committee in Berlin. From 1960 to 1982 he was a member of the DBD party executive committee.

From 1954 to 1967 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR and a member of the Committee for Agriculture and Forestry.
