Frizzo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frizzo , real name Ferdinand Owusu-Ansah (* 1985 in Düsseldorf ), is a German DJ , producer and label owner.

Life

Frizzo ended up in the music industry by accident in 2002, as he was well on his way to becoming a professional footballer. After a successful period at Fortuna Düsseldorf , a serious foot injury thwarted his future plans as a footballer.

At this point, he discovered his passion for DJing and quickly became active on the turntables. The first bookings followed, soon afterwards permanent club engagements, participation in DJ contests and own party series. He was quickly considered an important DJ in North Rhine-Westphalia . Today Frizzo is at home on decks all over the world. He has already played in metropolises such as Istanbul, New York, London, St. Petersburg and Bangkok and stood at the turntables with DJ colleagues such as Timbaland , DJ Kool and Fatman Scoop .

However, Frizzo never lost his love of football, and so today he is the official DJ for the black and yellow football club Borussia Dortmund . At larger events such as the DFB Cup final in 2012 and 2014 or the UEFA Champions League final in London in 2013, Frizzo gave the footballers a musical warm-up. The DJ is now good friends with players like Neven Subotic, Marco Reus and Marcel Schmelzer. Above all, Frizzo appreciates the down-to-earth attitude of the people of Dortmund and their shared passions for good dance music.

The 29-year-old has also made a name for himself as a music producer lately. Together with his brother Coenigsallee , he mainly produced the 2013 album Blockplatin by Haftbefehl . In the past, Frizzo has also worked as a Universal Music Group remixer and producer for productions by Shaggy , Tamer Hosny and R. Kelly .

He also produced remixes for the label Universal Music for the joint single Dance wiv Me by Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris and for the song No One (Can Ever Change My Mind) by Stefanie Heinzmann . In 2014 he founded the Drunken Monsters / DÜS Records label . His EP series has been published about this since the beginning of 2015 . So far, the EPs Exit Only and Motion Picture Fantasy have been released .
