This article covers the Czechoslovak national team at the 1960 European Football Championship .

qualification

Besides Ireland, Czechoslovakia was the only team to prove themselves in the preliminary round. On April 5, 1959, the qualification for the Czechoslovaks began. They lost the away game against Ireland 2-0, but the second leg was won 4-0 just under a month later in Bratislava and the team qualified for the round of 16.

In the second round, Czechoslovakia eliminated Denmark . The first leg ended 2: 2, but the Czechoslovaks again won the second leg with 5: 1.

In the quarter-finals, the opponent was Romania . In the first leg in Bucharest they won 2-0. In the second leg, the team was able to play their home strength again and won 3-0 in Bratislava, which meant that Czechoslovakia qualified for the finals in France .
