venue

Bangladesh was supposed to host the 2001 South Asian Championship in October / November 2001. However, these were postponed to the period between January 26th and February 5th, 2002 and then relocated again on January 11th, 2002 due to a FIFA suspension of the Bangladeshi football association BFF . In this way, in 2001 the biennial tournament was skipped. The venue for all tournament games was the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital Dhaka .
