The Furan (or Furens ) is a river in France that runs in the Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Pilat Regional Nature Park in the municipality of Le Bessat , generally drains in a north-westerly direction, crosses the urban area of Saint-Étienne and, after 39 kilometers, flows into the Loire as a right tributary at Andrézieux-Bouthéon .
